About Prof. Ishwar Dayal:
Professor Ishwar Dayal is at present chairman of the Academic council of Fortune Institute of International Business,
New Delhi
. He served for more than fifteen years in senior managerial positions in Alembic Chemicals, Phillips
India
and Metal Box before he joined Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, in 1963 as Senior Professor. He moved over to the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, in mid 1967 and has held several academic positions since: Director, Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi; National Fellow, Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi; Chief Technical Advisor (Project Head) ILO/UNDP Project on Management Development, Lagos, Nigeria; Founder Dean, International Management Institute, New Delhi, and Founder Full-time Director, Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
After completing his assignment in IIM,

, Prof Dayal helped the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, set up a Research Programme and served as Eminent Professor,

Prof. Dayal went to the

to study mechanical engineering after completing early college studies in

Prof. Dayal has been consultant to many large organisations in
India
such as State Bank of India, Power Finance Corporation, Life Insurance Corporation, IBP Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation, Indo-Burma Petroleum, Air India, Indian Airlines, National Thermal Power Corporation, Mafatlal Industries, DCM, Voltas, Bank of Baroda and others. He has served on several commissions and committees of union and state governments. He was chairman of 18 member committee appointed in the year 2000 by Union Ministry of Human Resource Development to recommend on ‘Policy Perspectives for Management Education’. The Report was submitted to the Government in the year 2001.
Prof. Dayal has served on Corporate Boards of several organisations. He was Chairman, DCM Ltd, for two and half years, and member of the Board of Bharat Electronic Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation, National Textile Corporation, UP Roadways corporation and several others. He is also member of the Governing Board of many management schools. Prof. Dayal has published 27 books and monographs and over 270 papers in journals and periodicals in
India
and abroad.
